Psalms 91:1-2 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
We live in a world that has abruptly changed. Suddenly, the foundations many trusted in have evaporated. Millions are gripped with fear and insecurity. Many in New Zealand—Christian and unbeliever alike—face an uncertain future. No-one can predict the extent of the financial hit our nation could face by late April, nor the potential tidal wave of depression that may sweep across our land in the latter part of the lockdown.
Throughout the centuries courageous Christians have learnt not only to survive but thrive in such times. They were tested, and they found their security in the Most High. Now it is our turn to be tested. Now we too must learn the lessons of those great men and women of faith who went before us.
Does God really care for you and me? Can He really keep us safe and protected in these dark days? How can we know for sure that He is with us? Can we truly walk in peace when everything around us seems to be falling apart? The answer is, “ABSOLUTELY YES!”
How can we live in complete security? Make God your dwelling!
Many Christians tend to ‘visit’ God. In other words, their interaction with Him is irregular and infrequent. But for our faith to remain strong in these uncertain days, it will not be enough to occasionally drop by to say, “Hi” to the Most High.
Dwell with Him, meditate on His word, commune with Him throughout each and every day, entrust your life and future to Him. This is the key.
Then your soul will experience a divine rest and a deep unmovable peace that seems at odds with the uncertainty that surrounds us. Then you also will be able to boldly proclaim with the Psalmist, “I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
Much love to you all. Tony.
